Bring Brang Brung
Living in a small town in southeast Texas has its own brand of entertainment. A lot of people here are just . . . for lack of a gentler way to say this, just dumb. Even simple minded. One thing that I have never been able to understand is that some of them misspell the most unexpected things.
I’m not talking your run of the mill daily typos, or just an acceptable mistake, but showing your overall stupidity by looking downright DUMB. Here’s an example:
My son and I went to Dairy Queen (insert laugh here for living in a town with a Dairy Queen) to get ice cream. Apparently the local DQ has decided to compete with Sonic by offering different flavors of limeades (which I love from Sonic, btw).
So, to let everyone know that they have these new drinks available, there is a typed sign on the Dairy Queen window:
New drinks: Lime Aids, Lemon Aids, Charry Lime Aids, Strawbarry Lime Aids.
Who pointed out this sign to me? My 14-year-old son, who was laughing uncontrollably at how stupid it looked.
I dunt think I be branging him out in public to that there Dairy Queen agin inny time soon. That boy just caint be trusted to behave hisself.

too funny! there are signs around our area advertising for a lawn business that read “Grass to thick” and “Lawn to thick”. it actually took me awhile to figure out what it was advertising for since i was reading it as they wrote it. i soon figured out that it should have been “too”. so i’m not really sure who the stupid one in that situation was???

What the hail??
Signs like that? Nails on a chalkboard for me.
Going down I-45 - EmURgency (it is some kind of ad but you know people are now going to spell emergency that way!!) Drives me crazy.

We have DQ’s on every corner here. But not a sonic within sight. Sigh……

Good to see you back! HHHMMMMM, the town I live in has a Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Burger King and 2 Subways (which are approximately 2 miles apart) but no Sonic. And yes, the bars out number the churches and we have to watch for cows running the streets. What does that say about the town in which we reside?

i remember you blog way back when and was reading your extended “about me”. all i can say is “wow” and “i’m sorry”. but i know how it feels for a blog to be used against someone.
